  1. 220 grain .310

Posted by Subsonic Junkie on Dec 25th 2017

What's not to love about Leatherhead .220gr Round Nose coated .310 projectiles? I load lots and lots of misc subsonic .308 Win, 7.62x39, and other .30 caliber recipes for different platform rifles and while I load lots of Leatherhead 240gr FT bullets but anytime the barrel length/twist/etc will allow me to run these 220gr RN .......then that's the route I prefer to go!! Leatherhead has always had their alloy/hardness figured just perfect (just shake a handful and listen to that beautiful "clink" they chime out) , their coating is always even and consistent (I liked their black but I LOVE their emerald), they are super friendly, professional, rarely ever out of stock, they ship fast, they ship cheap, Leatherhead Bullet company is just awesome in general but this review is supposed to be about the 220gr RN .310 bullets which I obviously adore. As far as negative or downsides to them......I will say that I do not like the bronze/copper coating on them one bit. Not because there is anything wrong with the coating or the color in general because the truth is.........they do too good of a coating job and the color is spot on and very difficult to distinguish from a copper jacketed/plated projectile which I do not care for because it can easily cause an honest mix up or mistake for anyone who handles and loads multiple recipes of any one ammo caliber. And the shelf life on these bullets absolutely sucks because most times they never make it to the shelf before I have every last one of them loaded and I swear here lately I'm either loading, shooting, ordering, or headed to my mailbox to get these bullets for the simple basic fact........I am addicted to them!! And Leatherhead Bullets did not ask nor pay me to write this review either although I would be more than willing to do some pretty sketchy stuff for their company if it would get me just a handful of their bullets now......just enough to hold me over until the mail lady gets here Tuesday morning!!!

  2. Great round

Best thing for 300 blackout since brass was formed. I'm running these subsonic and getting better than expected accuracy.

  3. Best 30 cal 220 grn Blackout bullets

Posted by Eric Cizmadia on Jun 20th 2017

I loaded up a bunch and they worked flawlessly. They even worked in all of my Gen 2 pmags, you can't find a better projectile at this price!!

  4. Beauties

These bullets are hard, black, and shiny! Can't wait to load and shoot 'em!

  5. .30 cal 220 grn Blackout bullets

Posted by Unknown on Nov 9th 2016

The product seems as advertised. All bullets were consistent in size and weight. I re-load 20 to try at the range, but have not made it yet. Looking forward to see how they perform. If they perform good will be buying more.

  6. Cheap Accurate Reliable

Posted by Unknown on Oct 17th 2016

Decided to give 300 blackout a try. Put a 16" AR Stoner barrel with carbine gas tube on my AR. Using AA 1680 I had to reduce recommended load by 1 grain to get subsonic; 1066 fps. ES was 4 fps. COAL was 2.09". Crimped approx .001" to .002". Have had absolutely no failures. Every test load shot about 1/2" group at 50yds, and held the bolt open after last shot. Taking all precautions to avoid scraping coating off, I see no signs of leading in my barrel. They loaded ok into both P mags and metal mags; just slightly more difficult than .223. The tips of the bullets do get pushed to the center a little, but they still hold 30 rounds and feed just fine. I'm very happy with these bullets. Just ordered 2000.

  7. Lots of lead for the price

Posted by Jon on Sep 22nd 2016

For the price, I would recommend these to anyone that is interested in trying cast rounds in 300 blackout.....Loaded to an OAL of 2.095 and they seem to chamber and feed ok....any longer and the round would start to hit the lands due to the profile of the bullet but my barrel is super tight........VERY FAST SHIPPING AND VERY INEXPENSIVE.

  8. Very happy to find these bullets

Posted by Matt Owen on Jan 29th 2016

I've been shooting a supressed .300 blackout for awhile. The cost was high so I started reloading. The bullet cost for just target shooting was outrageous. Then, I found leatherhead bullets. What a great bullet at a cost that makes shooting fun again. Thanks guys and keep up the great quality and service.
